Four Dance Callback Outfits that Say "I Know You're Doing Chorus Line But I'm Here for

So you decided to take a risk and audition for a season that contained both mover-favorite “Beauty and the Beast” and dancer-classic “Chorus Line.” You sailed through your contrasting 16’s and now they want you to return for the dance call. Red Alert! What if they think you’re going for Dance 10, Looks 3?? Not to worry: you can easily signal your desire to be considered for Belle and only Belle with these great dance callback looks!

1. Wear Jazz Sneakers: If you don’t own a pair of LaDucas (you don’t), Jazz Sneakers are a great option to let them know you don’t have any idea what you’re doing. They might have been cool in the seventh grade, but now they’re just clompy and unfashionable.

2. A Nice Long Skirt: This long-ass skirt will hide your weird, uncoordinated legs perfectly as your stumble through the combination. If they can’t see your feet, how will they know you botched the footwork? Make sure the creative team hears you say “I thought we’d be doing a Viennese Waltz!” so they know you’re ready to do the iconic ballroom dance and nothing else.

3. Jeans: Nothing on your resume indicated that you would be able to step kick kick leap kick step, so really drive that point home with a pair of tight, inflexible jeans.

4. A Mrs. Potts Costume: This is a great option if you can afford the rental costs and also have a lot of arm stamina. Bonus points if you can get the kid you babysit to accompany you as Chip. They may not be impressed by your dance skills, but they sure will appreciate your commitment to “the Craft!”
