Fake News Alert: Non-Union Actor Playing Fast and Loose with the Word “Off-Broadway”

New York, New York: Despite numerous corrections from the creative team, sources close to Brenay Biltman have confirmed that she continues to refer to her black box production of Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9 as “Off-Broadway” without a hint of irony. According to the Facebook event, the brand new theater company plans to set the modern classic “underwater” and “in the Swingin’ Seventies” in a 30-seat blackbox space “just 20 minutes from the Staten Island Ferry.”
Though, Biltman has posted multiples statuses declaring herself “#bookedandblessed” a fellow cast member reports, “she’s also not really in the show. It might be more accurate to call this her NY Furniture Moving Debut…”
Biltman was not available to comment for this article. In an emailed statement, she wrote “I would love to be interviewed in the future, but I am currently putting scales on the fish puppets for my Off-Broadway debut. I hope you can make it to this groundbreaking production!”
