10 Ways to Prepare For Your Summer Contract

Feeling stressed with all you have to get done before summer stock starts? Not to worry, just use this handy checklist to make sure you are fully prepared before you leave town! Do some good acting and have a great summer, y'all.
First things first: make a status (obviously!) See how many times you can use the word “contract” and how many superlatives you can put in.
Stalk your cast on Facebook. Find the weakest link, pick them as your roommate on day one.
Invest in several pairs of leggings and some fun tank tops! Shirts with funny sayings (like“Bard to the Bone!”) are excellent conversation starters.
Have your boyfriend Greg run lines with you! Be sure to critique his line readings.
Watch as many middle school versions of your show as you can find on youtube for research.
Make sure you are emotionally available by opening up your heart chakra on the six train (weeping encouraged.)
Go to the gym and use the weird leg machine (Gotta be in shape for summer stock plus you don’t have to use your upper body so you can hold your lines at the same time.)
Have your boyfriend quit his job in order to spend 24/7 with you. You’re going to be apart for the next six weeks, it’s the least he can do!
Throw yourself a big old going away party! Act like you’re leaving for the mission to Mars, do too many shots, spend the rest of the evening in tears.
Develop a controversial stance on your character that is not rooted in the text. It’s important to have ideas for your director upon arrival.
