The 9 things You MUST Have in Your Audition Bag

In this competitive industry, being prepared can set you apart from the other talented faces in the crowd. Not sure what to pack? Hackstage to the rescue!

1. Gel Pens: Great tip straight from Mom! Sign your name up in bright colors and nice handwriting. Monitors will remember you as someone “neat” and “creative.”

2. A Chewbacca Mask: Having a mask that you can put on allows you instant privacy and space. Put the mask on before entering the elevator, and wait to take it off until you are speaking with the accompanist.

3. Digiorno's Frozen Pizza: Pizza? To keep your strength up! Digiorno's? Because it's delicious.

4. Your boyfriend: Nothing says “I have my shit together” like bringing your boyfriend to an open call.

5. A Bottle Opener: This seems like a no brainer, but many actors don’t think about what they will need in the moments after an audition. Make sure you are prepared with a bottle open (just make sure you are outside the holding room before you crack open that rose.)

6. Fun Socks: you never know when they might ask you to read for a character role! Surprise them by entering the room in those weird socks that separate your toes!

7. A Nice Fruit Platter for the Folks Behind the Table: Some call it “bribery,” others call it “hospitality!”

8. A fog machine: Don’t forget, they’re watching from the moment you enter the room! Start your audition on the right foot with a memorable entrance!

9. A headshot and an updated resume: Just in case. Remember, you can always ask for it back if you can tell they don't want you.
