Sometimes an extra job is not just an extra job. Just ask New York actor and Hackstage aficionado Lily Brown. Brown takes control of her career on a daily basis by submitting to literally every project, regardless of whether she’s the right gender, race or type for the part, available for the shoot dates or in the right city to attend the audition. Talk about commitment to craft!
It all paid off when Brown found a casting call for a highly anticipated motion picture being made by a major studio. For legal reasons, Hackstage is not allowed to reveal which film!! The listing called for a featured extra to masturbate, entirely nude in the background of a shot. Brown pounced and immediately applied. After being contacted by the casting director, the audition process went fast. Brown snapped a couple nudes on her iPhone and got a call the following day that she had booked the part! She knew this was the “exposure” she’d been waiting for!
Once on set, Brown disrobed, lay on her mark and went to town on herself! After several grueling hours of self-stimulation, authorities arrived on location, responding to an anonymous tip about a woman exposing herself. Though the ADs attempted to explain the situation it was no use, and Brown was promptly arrested and charged with a Class 3 Misdemeanor for Public Masturbation and Indecent Exposure!
But Brown’s #igotcast story doesn’t end there. The incident landed her representation with Arnold, Smith and Reyes, P.C., a team of the best sex crimes defense lawyers in the country! And just last month, a jury of her peers found her guilty. Brown was sentenced to 6 months in prison and ordered to attend a sex crimes rehabilitation program. She was also added to the New York State Sex Offender Registry!
“In the world of acting, you never know where a gig will lead you” said a visibly flustered Brown, adding “I guess it just goes to show you, that if you really put yourself out there, things will happen to you.” Congrats Lily!
