Classically Trained Local Actor Does not land lead over AEA member

In a shocking upset, Bristol actor, Phil Langhem was not granted the title role of Hamlet at his local, equity theater. The role was instead, given to NYC based actor Wiley Wells.
Phil Langhem posted the following on his facebook page:
“I was not granted the lead role or any role. I guess means that I will have free time if anyone would like to go to a movie, or out to eat. I think this means I am done with acting forever.”
Langham is known for being the MC of the town talent show and for playing Coach Calhoon in the Bristol Community Theater’s production of Grease. Cast members describe him as “a real hoot,” and “a pretty good actor… Or at least I mean he’s funny.”
At presstime, Langhem had deleted the previous status opting instead for a more cryptic and incoherent message: “When one door closes, another one opens. Thanks for all the support, those of you what I am talking about.”
Wiley Wells did not understand the question and refused to answer follow up calls.
